Spiritual gifts -- D&C 46

vs. 13-14 "To some it is given by the Holy Ghost to know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and the he was crucified for the sins of the world. To others it is given to believe on their words, that they also might have eternal life if they continue faithful."

Eventually we will all know, but till then, we have to be content with believing, and continue in faith.

vs. 17-18 "...to some is given, by the Spirit of God, the word of widsom. To another is given the word of knowledge, that all may be taught to be wise and to have knowledge."

I think there's a difference between the word of wisdom and wisdom, itself. I just heard Elder Glenn L. Pace teach that wisdom is often gained through pain, and personal experience. The word of wisdom would be when this person imparts of what they learned the hard way to others.

I really don't know which is better.

Hi Wonder Woman,

I happened to have stumbled across your site today and saw this post. I agree with your insight above, there seems to be a distinction between knowing and believing. You might be interested in a couple related posts - see Spiritual Gifts and Brother of Jared at the Veil.
